There's a show on SpikeTV called "A Thousand Ways To Die." In their intro they say. "...it's a miracle that any of us even survive..." But, when you think about it, how many things do we really take into account as we go through our daily lives? I just can't believe that our survival is nothing more than chance and coincidence.
I was washing dishes during this past holiday, when the label on one plate struck me. It was on the back of this "Cookies for Santa" plate that was given to me by a neighbor, with home-baked cookies on it, for Christmas. It read, "East West Distributing Company, "Safe For Dishwasher," "Safe For Microwave," "Made in China." For some reason the wiseass remark that came to my mind was, "What, not safe for people?" This is the story of how I found out that I have
glaucoma.
My father has had glaucoma for
years and has been seeing a leading glaucoma specialist in Brooklyn. It so
happened that while taking my father to an appointment with this doctor my
sister asked me when was the last time I had my eyes checked. I said that it
had been about a year and a half two years and I was pretty much due for a check-up.
She asked me if I wanted her to ask the doctor if he could squeeze me in even
though I didn’t have an appointment, because the last time she was there he
told her that glaucoma can be hereditary and it would be a good idea if all the
children were checked. I told her yes and the doctor was able to squeeze me in. Write Comment (0 comments) |

Happy New Year to All!!
For 2012 PrinceHMarshallJr.com will be going in new directions, expanding its scope and hopefully becoming someplace frequented by many for different reasons.
When originally launched in 2008 it was intended to just be a place for
me to showcase my photography, have an online resume accessible to
anyone from anywhere and be someplace for me to post a thought from time
to time. |
